Transport - Dial a Ride Service
Dial a Ride is a flexible bus service operating in the Harwich area, enabling you to travel to appointments, go shopping, to clubs, or simply visit friends.

Our Dial a Ride Service operates Monday - Friday from 0900 -1700, except Bank Holidays.

Dial a Ride mini buses have tail lifts for passengers who have difficulty accessing the steps, and our drivers are trained to assist passengers if they so require. - Please note that we can only accommodate 1 fixed wheelchair per trip.

The service has no travel restrictions as long as it is within our areas of operation. From our Harwich base this service is available for journeys throughout the town, and adjacent parishes of Ramsey and Parkeston and Little Oakley. Please call us to check if your destinations are covered. We operate other community bus services for destinations further afield.

Booking:
-
To use the service you must be registered as a Dial a Ride member, (£25.00 REGISTRATION FEE PER ANNUM) and all trips must be pre booked.

-
To book or register, simply call us on 01255 552010.

-
Book early if you can. As much notice as possible will give you more chance of getting the date and time you require.

The very latest that we can accept bookings is by 3.00pm on the day before travel. This deadline enables the passenger lists, routing of journeys and rostering of drivers to be arranged to ensure our community buses are deployed daily to good effect for our passengers.

-
When you book your seat it is important that you let us know of any special requirements, if you use a wheelchair, walking frame or require the tail lift.

Fares:

As a registered bus service we accept local authority concessionary bus passes, if, however, you do not have a bus pass, the single fare is £5.50p per journey.

We are supported by Essex County Council, who carefully monitor the service, performance and the welfare of passengers.
